One Owner, One Contribution: Bill Would Change Campaign Donations

By: Marci Manley, KARK 4 News

Donors who want to use multiple companies they own to give money to political candidates may not have that option if a Senate Bill passes in the Arkansas General Assembly.

The bill would require companies, groups, unions, and other entities with the same majority owner to act as one "person" in contributing to campaign funds.

Essentially, an individual could not make multiple donations to a candidate's campaign under the name of each of the multiple individual companies of which that person may be majority owner.

The campaign contribution limitations for the state are capped at $2,000 per person per campaign for each office the candidate is running for.
