Some 3,000 brides to be will head to the Statehouse Convention Center this Sunday for the state's biggest bridal show.  We spoke with some of the 200 local vendors who will be on hand to find out what Arkansas brides want.

For the latest floral trends, we turned to Tanarah Luxe Floral.
"They really want to show a big ostentatious design, so huge blooms like hydrangeas, peonies, roses," said Tanarah Haynie.

Haynie says vintage themes with a nod to natural elements still dominate.

"Right now we're seeing a lot of 20's versions of weddings coming up," said Haynie.  "We just did a Great Gatsby theme."

The wedding cake is often the centerpiece of the reception, but Sweet Love Bakery is whipping up some  creative alternatives too.

"We are seeing a lot of people branching out to pies and shot glasses filled with cake or other desserts," said Kelli Marks, who even hand paints designs onto wedding cakes.   "It's not just your typical, 'I must have a cake,'" said Marks.

But you must have the dress.  First Impressions is preparing to show off several gowns at the show Sunday.  Some brides are daring to go short.

"They're looking for something a little different," said Lillie Hand.  "We're not seeing the same fluff we usually see.  We're seeing a lot of key hole backs, a lot of cap sleeves, a lot of high-lo."

Any good party needs music.  Whether a live band or a DJ, Central Arkansas Entertainment is a favorite among Arkansas brides wanting a memorable reception.

DJ Mario Luna 7:52 "We want to make sure it's not your typical guy playing music,"said DJ Mario Luna.  "We create moments so everyone leaves happy."

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette bridal show runs from 12:30 to 5pm this Sunday at the Statehouse Convention Center.   For more information, go to www.arkansasbridalcommunity.com
