Morning Road Conditions Worst in North Central, Northeast Arkansas

Ice and snow are reported on most of the roads in North Central Arkansas while ice patches are reported in Northeast Arkansas this morning.

If you get out this morning before sunrise and before the temperature rises above freezing, be on the lookout for ice/ice patches, especially on bridges and overpasses.
Region 8 News in Jonesboro reports that the Highway Department tells them crews would be working overnight to clear the primary roadways in the area. That includes Highway 49N going toward Paragould, Highway 63S going toward I-55 and Highway 63N going toward Walnut Ridge.
Walter McMillian with the Highway Department told Region 8 that his crews will also be out this morning spreading chemicals and sand on the roadways to ensure safe travel.

Road conditions in the Little Rock area show only ice patches. The same goes for most of South Arkansas, while most of Southeast Arkansas reports slushy roads.
