It happened on Saturday at Mountain Pine High School during a girls basketball tournament featuring Mountain Pine versus Jessieville.
The Garland County Sheriff's Office says Tyrell Marquet Honey, 33, was arrested after the incident by sheriff's deputies working security at the game. The man reportedly got into a shouting match with the referee before jumping a wall to get onto the court, pulled off his own jacket and grabbed the referee from behind, knocking him to the floor, officials said.
The referee suffered bruising and swelling to his hip, the incident report said. A sheriff's deputy also had to be taken to the emergency room for a back injury after the struggle.
Honey posted a $2,500 bail and was released later Saturday.
