Original Report:
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock says more winter weather is expected across Arkansas this afternoon.
The photo above shows sleet in Little Rock around 10 o'clock this morning. The photos below show snow in downtown Little Rock around 10:15.
The NWS says another upper level disturbance is pushing through the state. Ahead of this disturbance, moisture will begin to increase and interact with the cold air mass currently situated over the region. This will lead to winter precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing rain.
In the purple area of the map below, an ice storm warning has been issued from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with freezing rain over a quarter of an inch expected.
The blue area is a winter weather advisory from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with freezing rain up to 0.20 inches expected.
The white outlined area indicates a mix of snow and sleet will be possible in the morning and potentially brief freezing rain will be possible.
Accumulations of ice will be possible in the ice storm warning and winter weather advisory counties with bridges, elevated surface, trees and power lines the main concern.
