A former doctor was arrested for wielding a gun at a hospital.

According to the Independence County Sheriff's Office, 81-year-old Gerald Fowler was arrested on Monday.

Officials say Fowler was kicked out of the White River Medical Center in Batesville last week for making threats. When he returned to the hospital with a handgun, deputies were able to grab him in the parking lot.

Fowler is in jail on $1 million bond for making terroristic threats.
