Education Matters: Students Create Books on iPads

Remember the standard version of the book report that you dreaded having to sit through, every last one of your classmates read theirs individually?

Well now, book reports just got interactive, bringing life to the class, with iBooks and the iPad.

Harry Dickens, Director of Technology at the Arkansas Public School Resource Center in Little Rock, says now students can bring that report to life making it interactive and fun, by creating an iBook on the iPad.

"It is an App, we actually create iBooks on the computer and we can actually project those books on the iPads," said Dickens.

The countless things you can do when creating these iBooks are huge, allowing kids to show what they know.

The way the App works, students just type in how they want their book set up, using images, video, 3-D objects and even review questions if teachers create a book for instructional use.

"It's engagement for the kids," added Dickens.

Keeping them engaged and prepared for the future.
