Update: Pine Bluff Man Charged in January Murder

Update (February 4):
The Pine Bluff Police Department has made an arrest in a January homicide.

Markel Crater, 19, faces a capital murder charge in the shooting death of Roy Haltiwanger, 20.

Haltiwanger died in the incident that happened in the area of 21st & Georgia Street.

Original story (January 3):
Pine Bluff Police are searching for suspects after a man was shot and killed Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to a shots fired call near East 21st Avenue and Georgia Street around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, where they found 20-year-old Roy Haltiwanger suffering from a gunshot wound.

Haltiwanger was transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Police say there are no suspects at this time, and are asking anyone with information regarding this case to call (870) 730-2090 or (870) 730-2086.

A reward may be available for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this homicide, police say.
