Online Petition Asks Walmart to Stop Selling Assault Rifles

More than 85,000 people have signed an Online Petition asking Walmart to stop selling assault rifles.
The petition urges Walmart to "stop selling military-grade assault rifles and the types of high-capacity magazines used in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting."
Shortly after the shooting in Newtown, CT, Walmart pulled the listing for its Bushmaster AR-15 rifle from its online listings, but has still sold the weapon in more than 1,700 Walmart stores around the country.
The petition needs less than 5,000 more signatures to reach its goal of 90,000.

Ok so where is the petition to support Wal-Mart selling these firearms? I'll sign it. No one has been down to the local car lot petitioning them to stop selling cars due to the number of wrecks from drunk drivers. Same thing.

To call a Bushmaster AR15 an assault rifle is incorrect. The main difference? An assault rifle has FULL-AUTO capability. Wal Mart, and other licensed dealers, sell civilian-legal, semi-auto rifles to the general public, UPON filling out the proper paper work and being approved after a background check. These people are not just walking in and simply buying these things like they do with groceries...
