Arkansas Dairy Says "Cliff" Effect Won't Happen

For the largest dairy in Arkansas that's good news but not entirely surprising.
"I don't think it's going to happen," said Walter Coleman, business manager of Coleman Dairy.
At issue: The fiscal cliff deadline approaching fast---had Republicans and Democrats not come to an agreement over a farm bill, the Dairy Security Act of 1949 would have gone into effect. As a result, it would have forced the federal government to pay more for milk it buys from the dairy industry.
"It is a scary thought...just like some of the scary thoughts that are going through conversations in Washington about a lot of other areas," Coleman said.
