In less than 24 hours many of you will be celebrating.

Police want drivers to be smart while ringing in the new year by planning a route home that doesn't involve them getting behind the wheel.

Police plan to have extra officers on the street for the holiday, Including several assigned specifically to DWI patrol.

They suggest picking a designated driver beforehand.

If you do take your own car and party a little too hard call a friend or family member for a ride, or take a taxi home.

If you're staying in, but know someone who is out to celebrate tomorrow night, here's a reminder you may want to pass along:

  • Several services around town are aiming to keep everyone safe this new year.
  • Yellow Cab is partnering with several Little Rock bars to give impaired people a lift

Here's how it works: show up to a bar, have a great time, and when you're ready to go give your keys to the bartender, the bartender calls Yellow Cab and you get the first $25 of the ride for free.

Participating bars include:

  • Willie D's
  • Markham Street Pub
  • Hibernia
  • Flying Fish
  • Crush Wine Bar
  • Big Whiskey's
  • Satellite Cafe
  • Juanita's
  • Midtown
  • Sidetrack's
  • Ernie Bigg's
  • Maddie's Place
  • Bar Louis
  • The Fountain
  • Creegens
  • Thirst N Howl
  • Cajun's Wharf
