National Guard Called In to Provide Winter Weather Support

The Arkansas National Guard has been called in to support winter weather missions in Pulaski and Faulkner Counties.
These initial missions for the Guard include the provision of four-wheel-drive ambulance support, according to a news release.
The missions call for a total of fourteen personnel with seven military ambulances to assist the first responders based at the Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) in Conway, Little Rock and Jacksonville.
Duration of the mission is anticipated to be a minimum of 24 hours.
At this time, more than 200,000 Arkansans are in the dark due to power outages.
