Todd and Jessica Hall drove half an hour from their home in Cabot to buy a flag pole from the Arkansas Flag and Banner store in Little Rock.
"We really like them, like to come and support them (local businesses) when we can," Todd Hall said.
He and his wife say they've spent more this holiday season than last year, conservatively,a total of $1,500.
Part of that is due to a new addition to their family, Carter, their son, who was born six months ago.
Sales clerk Sam Rutherford says sales have been steady and so far look to be on par with last year's numbers.
This year, though, Christmas decorations were the hottest selling items, he said.
The National Retail Federation projects sales will top out at just over $586 billion this year, up by 4.1 percent last year,
