Man Killed After Pulling Knife on Columbia County Deputy

A man died after being shot by a sheriff's deputy in Columbia County over the weekend.

It happened Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m. near the McNeil community on Front Street.
Authorities say 60-year-old Larry Price was shot after he pulled a knife on a Columbia County deputy, Koby Schmittou.
Arkansas state police are investigating. They are awaiting for the results of an autopsy report.
A prosecuting attorney will determine if the deputy used deadly force consistent with state laws.
The deputy involved is has been placed on paid administrative leave.
