School canceled Friday, but investigators say they're isolating the buildings destroyed and plan on resuming classes for the rest of campus Monday.

Firefighters said so far they don't know how this happened.

"We haven't even began an investigation yet. too hot to get in and try and see anything," said Jake Jones the assistant fire chief for Hector Fire Department.

"All of our food supplies was in this area, you can see of course everything is gone," said Hector Principal Kathy Freeman.

Freeman says 85% of students who walk the halls of Hector live below the poverty line.

In July KARK covered a back-pack program Freeman began so students wouldn't have to go without food on weekends.

Food donations that were destroyed in the fire.

"It's probably the most devastating time of the year for this to happen," said Freeman.

Lisa Graves has two students at the school and said the loss is devastating.

"Some kids don't get a meal once they leave here Friday, " Graves said. "They don't eat again until Monday morning."

"What they're going to have to battle through over the weekend," said Raigen Graves. "And Christmas break."

Lisa's daughter said she's concerned her classmates will have to spend the holidays worrying about their next meal.

They have opened a temporary food shelter location at the football concession stand.

For people wanting to give, keep in mind donations for the program must be item a ten-year-old is able to open.
