DEW THE DEW APPLE DUMPLINGS
2 (8-count) cans crescent rolls
3 cups (bite-size) pieces peeled apples
1 ¼ cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon salt
½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 (12-ounce) can Mountain Dew (do not use diet)
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into 16 triangles. Toss the apples with 2 to 3 tablespoons of the sugar and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon in a bowl. Wrap each dough triangle around some of the apple pieces to form a dumpling, sealing the edges. Arrange the dumplings in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Mix the remaining sugar, the remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon, the salt and butter in a bowl and drizzle over the dumplings. Pour the soda over the top and bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 45 minutes. Great with vanilla ice cream.
