The Jupiter Music Corporation has donated $50,000 worth of new instruments to the University of Arkansas at Monticello's elite jazz ensemble, Jazz Band I.

The timely donation comes in advance of the group's performance at the 66th Midwest Clinic of the International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago on December 21.

Jazz Band I, under the direction of Gary Meggs, is one of four college jazz ensembles invited to perform at the conference.

The Midwest Clinic will feature performances by Leonard Slatkin, the Star Wind Orchestra, and jazz legend Wynton Marsalis.
