Former employees laid off by Hawker-Beechcraft had their chance today to find new employment.

A job fair in Little Rock for those employees featured 18 companies from across Central Arkansas on Thursday.

The Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce's goal is to keep all the former employees right here in Central Arkansas.

"It gives them hope," says Joey Dean with the Chamber of Commerce. "When you lose your job it's a tough thing to hear, but when you walk into a place like this and you see 18 employers who are looking for people to hire and are looking for the skill levels that you have, it gives them hope, especially at this time of year. That's a great gift."

Since August, Hawker-Beechcraft has laid off more than 200 employees, many of which have a very specialized skill set that the chamber hopes to keep in this area.
