Donning his camo Santa hat, Steve "Wildman" Wilson showed us his first must have- the Arkansas Game and Fish Outdoor Atlas. For twenty bucks, even on dirt roads, you'll never get lost.
"If you have a bayou or a lake you want to find, look it up," said Wildman. "It's got all the hunting areas, what they're stocked with, good family outings. If you're going outdoors, you need one of these outdoor atlases."
For the outdoorsman who has it all, get a subscription to the Arkansas Wildlife magazine which includes the calendar already marked with all the important hunting dates.
"You get five issues of the magazine and the calendar mailed to your house for $12 a year," said Wildman. "That's a bargain."
It also gets you special ornament- a replica of the new specialty Game and Fish license plate featuring a bald eagle.
Better yet, you can pick up a gift certificate for the real thing at the Game and Fish main office. $25 goes toward conservation education and scholarships.
"Drive with pride," said Wildman.
And finally, what stocking is complete without Wildman's very own hot sauce- Headsweat 1 and Headsweat 2?
Wildman said, "Headsweat 2 will set you on fire!"
Headsweat 2 carries a warning on the label for "children, sissies, and Yankees."
The Nature Center and giftshop are open Tuesday through Sunday. Get more info at. http://www.centralarkansasnaturecenter.com/
