The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department plans to make some major repairs to roads in Pulaski and Saline Counties.

The agency announced Friday it opened bids for various improvement projects.

Crews will resurface nearly 8 miles of I-530 southwest of Wrightsville, according to a news release. The improvements will begin at Bingham Road and continue southeastward to the Grant County line. Plans also call for the replacement of three bridges along the route, ranging in length from 150 to 180 feet. Two additional spans will be resurfaced.

The project should be completed by the summer of 2015.
