An Arkansas doctor found guilty in a car bombing will be resentenced on some counts, though his conviction will stand.

The Eighth Circuit Court announced that ruling on Thursday in Randeep Mann's case.

Mann was sentenced to life in prison for the 2009 bombing of Dr. Trent Pierce's car in West Memphis.

Dr. Pierce survived, but was badly injured.

The court ruled on Thursday that Mann's sentencing shouldn't have taken into account an allegation he ordered an inmate's assault, a detail that never came up in his trial.
