It happened Friday night just before 8:30 at 13500 Chenal Parkway.
According to the police report, three men wearing masks approached the man while he checked the oil on his car in the parking lot. The suspects forced the man to go inside his apartment and give them his cash. One of them hit him in the eye, the report said.
The man's wife came home while the men were still inside the apartment and the suspects took money from her purse, along with a set of keys that included car, house and business keys, police said. The men used the car keys to open the trunk and get a laptop computer, according to the incident report.
The man said one of the suspects removed his mask and he recognized him, but the report did not say how the two knew each other.
After the incident, the men left the scene in what the incident report described as a "dark colored boxy styled vehicle."
The man requested medical attention for his injury.
The locks were changed on the couple's apartment and a patrol unit was sent to their business on East Roosevelt, police said.
