It happened Sunday night around 6:15 at the Outback on Markham Park Drive.
Police say the man and woman had stepped out of their car in the back of the parking lot when two men came up behind them and ordered the man to get face down on the ground. The suspects then ordered the woman to give them her purse and cell phone.
The men then ran in the direction of the Goodwill store next door to the restaurant, according to the incident report, which also states a witness reported seeing the men jump into the bed of a red Ford Ranger pickup in the Academy Sports parking lot on the other side of the restaurant.
Police described the suspects as black men aged 18 to 25.
Patrol cars searched the parking lots of apartment complexes in the area looking for the pickup truck but did not find it.
