Police Chase Ends in Deadly Crash In Polk County

32-year-old Michael P. Lawrence of Mena was allegedly fleeing from police around 10:30 p.m. on County Road 95 last night.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, the truck he was driving failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree.

Lawrence died at a Hot Springs Hospital.

A passenger in the truck, 21-year-old Danielle R. Smith of Hatfield, was injured.
