You might have to pay more to get your garbage picked up if you live in Little Rock.

City leaders are discussing raising solid waste fees by $1.75 per month starting in 2013, which is down from $4 in an earlier proposal.

Directors say they've failed to raise the rates, while operating costs have skyrocketed.

"We were supposed to raise rates in 2008, 2009 but we didn't do that because of the state of the economy, and we thought it important not to do that to the citizenry," says Little Rock City Manager Bruce Moore.

The board will continue discussing the rate hike next Tuesday.
