While "The Voice" manages to make the dreams of its winner come true, not everyone can make the cut. Fortunately, Arkansan Cody Belew and fellow contestant Dez Duron (who were let go Tuesday night) are determined to see their glasses as half-full.

Belew, of Beebe, had tried making a go of it in Nashville before stepping on to "Voice," and as he told TODAY's Natalie Morales, "With all of this happening now I hope that I can go back (to Nashville) with a different perspective, and maybe some doors will open that were closed previously."

Meanwhile, Duron had dropped out of Yale to pursue his music -- and has no intentions of going back there just yet. "I'm really excited to make my own music, so that's what I'm really looking forward to in these next few days, months -- making new music and getting the music I've already made out there."

Maybe both of them can take a cue from former "Voice" finalist Chris Mann, who proved with a TODAY performance Wednesday he was still one to keep an eye on.

The final six competitors will next appear on "The Voice" on Monday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
