There's a push to adorn the soon to be replaced Broadway Bridge that links Little Rock and North Little Rock with lots of red, white and blue.
Pulaski County Judge Buddy Villines laid out a star-spangled plan at today's meeting of Metroplan.
Villines' idea calls for turning the span into an "iconic" bridge, more specifically "America's Bridge: Dedicated to Those Who Fought for Freedom and Worked for Peace." Click the embedded video to see graphic animation of what it would look like.
The plan would mean painting some parts of the bridge red, other parts white and another section blue. The vision also calls for using LED bulbs to light it all up at night.
Walls would be decorated with stars, quotes by famous Americans about peace and freedom, and the names of Arkansans who've received the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Original story (9:30 a.m.):

Pulaski County Judge Buddy Villines is set to reveal his concept of what's described as one that "will reach out to all Americans."
Villines will make the presentation this morning at 10 o'clock at the Metroplan offices.
We'll update this story with more details after the concept is revealed.
