Man Fires at Sheriff's Deputies After Being Stopped for Seat Belt Violation

A routine traffic stop turned dangerous for deputies in Van Buren County.

Damascus Police say a man sped off after being stopped for not wearing a seat belt, and during the ensuing chase fired several rounds at Sheriff's deputies while driving.

The chase ended on Highway 65 outside Damascus.

None of the deputies were hurt, and the driver is still being treated.
