Imagine 400 pounds of food, almost 450 people in need, and a high school sophomore at the middle of an outreach picnic for the homeless in the Little Rock area.
In this week's faith matters report KARK 4 introduces to a teenager eager to lend a helping hand.
It's a beautiful weekend for a picnic, but the Saturday picnic at MacArthur Park  isn't just any day at the park
"This is where it starts. You know there's a problem and you have to do something about it and there can be something done about it," explains 15 year old Amanda Winters about her heart to help the needy.
Winters is a sophomore at Parkview High and teamed up with her church and other organizations to feed the needy.
"She spear headed the whole operation. If she wasn't here today there would be a lot of homeless people go without a meal today," explains executive director of Second Chance Foundation, Keith Lognion.
"I have faith things can be done to help people," adds Winters.
And by the end of the picnic Saturday, Amanda and several volunteers fed 437 people.
"If everyone pulls together something can be done - no matter what the problem is," encourages Winters.
