Update: 2012 Death of Jefferson County Man Found in Well Ruled Accidental

Update (March 21):
GRANT COUNTY, AR - The 2012 death of a Jefferson County man whose remains were found in a well has been ruled an accident.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says the State Medical Examiner has ruled the cause of death for Daniel Ash Johnson, 28, was drowning.

The examiner also noted that methamphetamine intoxication was a contributory cause in Johnson's death.

Update (November 17):

Officials have identified the body of a man found in a well on Monday.

The body has been identified as 28 year-old Daniel Ash Johnson of Jefferson County.

Johnson has been missing since August, following an argument with his ex-wife.

Original Story (November 12):
The Grant County Sheriff's Office is investigating a body that was discovered in a well.

According to the Grant County Sheriff, they are working to extract a body from a well on Grant County Road 75 at the west end of Mail Route Road.

Authorities say a land owner found the body on Monday, when he noticed something was blocking his well.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says it is currently unknown how the body ended up down there, or if it was accidental or a possible homicide.
