Smart911 Now Active in Lonoke County

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: November 16, 2012
The Lonoke County Sheriff's Office announced that the Smart911 system is now fully active in the county.

The system, which was announced in June, allows citizens to create a free safety profile of additional data about themselves and family members which is automatically displayed to 911 dispatchers during emergency calls.

This helps with a faster and more effective response.

Arkansas is the first state in the nation to offer Smart911 services statewide.

Michael, excellent point. Readers should visit smart911.com and fill out a Safety Profile. Please include any information that would be of help to a first responder, including medical conditions, disabilities and pets.
