The American White Pelican migrates through Arkansas this time of year. They breed and nest in lakes in the northern United States and southern Canada.
American White Pelicans winter in California, Mexico, and Central America, along the Gulf Coast and in Florida.
Arkansans can see them fishing in groups at local reservoirs and big rivers. They are also common at Lake Conway, Dardanelle, and Chicot.
