An El Dorado church is working to make Christmas bright for less fortunate children.

Immanuel Baptist Church is taking part in Operation Christmas Child.

The program was started by Billy Graham's son Franklin Graham to help children all over the world by providing them shoe boxes filled with hygiene products, school supplies, candy and toys for Christmas.

"They're just used to bring hope and joy to children. It lets them know that there is somebody who cares about them and there's a God in heaven who loves them," says Vicki Pepper, Operation Christmas Child Coordinator.

Immanuel Baptist Church is hoping to fill 38-thousand boxes to be shipped out. So far they have shipped out 12-thousand.

Program officials say they will be taking supplies for the boxes until November 19th.
