According to the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 14 women have been murdered this year due to domestic violence.
That's up from last year, where there were a dozen confirmed cases.
Carol Patterson, the mother of 33-year-old Lacrisha Foot, said she was shocked when detectives showed up to her home and broke the news about her daughter.
"That they had found my daughter laying in the street. She had been dumped like a piece of trash."
Friends and family are overcome by grief days after learning Foot was shot and killed.
Police say the shooter, her husband, 32-year-old DeShaun Scott.
"He had no kind of heart, he took his own child's mother from them, said Patterson."
Lacrisha has five children, but only 17-month-old Deshauna was fathered by Deshaun.
"These children need their mothers love, they don't need mine, they don't need friends."
According to family members an altercation between the Lacrisha and DeShaun had taken place, on Friday night at Elevations nightclub, on Colonel Glenn Road.
Lacrisha left with DeShaun, when according to police, he shot her and pushed her out of the car on 39th and Katherine in Little Rock, where she was later found.
"When it did happen we just automatically knew it was her husband, said one of her best friends Jetonga Reddick."
Friends say the two had been married for a couple of years, had split and recently gotten back together, but according to them, DeShaun made threats to Lacrisha's life.
"Everyone says he loved her, but he didn't love her. He just loved what she could do for him. He did not love Lacrisha. He would always say until death do us part, said Reddick."
"I want death, death, I want him to die, he's got breath right now, my daughter don't have no breath, said Patterson."
Lacrisha's visitation is Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Gunn Funeral Home in Little Rock.
Her funeral is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Covenant of Zion Cathedral Church in Little Rock.
