Imprisoned South Arkansas Man Makes Plea Deal in Wife's Murder

An imprisoned South Arkansas man has made a plea deal in his wife's murder.

Johnny F. Evans, 37, of El Dorado, has pleaded no contest to an amended charge of manslaughter in the 1999 killing of his estranged wife Mary Evans, 20.

Evans had been charged with first degree murder in the woman's death.

Evans was sentenced to 10 years, which he will serve concurrently with his 76-year sentence for 2007 convictions on a string of drug charges.
