A common bond of community and faith brings together high school and college students in hot springs Wednesday night...

And that's why faith matters -- to the hundreds that took to the field at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs. The students represented more than 18 high schools, and three universities. They listened to testimonials of faith at the second annual 'Fields of Faith'.

Organizers say the event encourages young people to stand up for their religious beliefs in school, and all walks of life...

"This is one of the largest groups we've had come together, and just to listen to these young kids testimonials. Hey, this is a good thing. God has put together some young people who will carry the gospel to their peers in the schools," Stan May said with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

About 1,000 students took time off from their studies Wednesday night to attend.
