Part of Little Rock's Arch Street will be closed from Saturday to Monday.

The area being shutdown is at the 3M railroad crossing near the Big Rock Quarry.

The closure begins at 4:00 a.m. Saturday and continues until 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

The shutdown will allow replacement and reconstruction of the railroad highway grade crossing.

DETOURS:

  • Southbound traffic on Arch Street/South Broadway Street will be detoured eastbound on Roosevelt Road to I-30 westbound to the 65th Street exit and then eastbound to Arch Street.
  • Local traffic will be allowed southbound on Arch Street from Roosevelt Road to Interstate Park. Local traffic northbound on Arch Street will be allowed from 65th Street to the Big Rock Quarry.
Message boards will be placed in advance of the detour route at 65th Street and Arch Street and at Roosevelt Road and Arch Street/South Broadway Street.

Comments

Arch street is still closed. It would have been nice if the highway department would have place the signs at baseline, dixon rd and at 65th street so that people would know in advance of the closing. In addition it's now Tuesday the road was suppose to be open as of 6 pm yesterday. This caused me to be 10 minutes late to work this morning and go 10 miles out of my way to get back to dixon road.
