New GOP Senate Majority Name Committee Chairmen

With their new majority in the State Senate, GOP lawmakers spent Thursday organizing and naming a new committee chairman.
They voted Michael Lamoureux as President Pro-Tem and appointed all 10 committee chairmen.
Some State Senators say they thought the process went smoothly.
"We've got to fix the supreme court ruling that put a hold on any executions, there's tort reform that's probably coming up in the session, there's always a lot of gun control, immigration bills coming through that committee, so it will be a very busy committee and a challenging one," says Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson.
Republicans won 21 of the 35 senate seats in Tuesday's election, the first time in recent history the GOP has held a majority in the senate.
