Bryant Teacher Arrested for Sexual Assault of Male Student

A former Bryant High School band teacher has been arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault.
According to the Saline County Prosecutor's Office, 36-year-old James Chad Green was charged with sexual assault in the first degree stemming from an incident with a male student in the 2009-2010 school year.

Green was taken to the Saline County Detention Center where he was held on $25,000 bond.
He has since posted bond and is out of jail, but is due in court Nov. 19.

I think this is an over reaction by the Bryant PD and prosecutors office. They don%u2019t want to appear to be %u201CSoft%u201D on an accused child abuser. However, I think there is a good chance, given what I have heard, that this guy will be found "Not Guilty", for the following three reasons:
1. It took an entire year to charge Mr. Green. Why did it take so long? 99% of the time the moment the story break the teacher is hauled off to jail. If he was guilty, why did it take an entire year to figure it out?
2. Mr. Green has always claimed he is innocent. Every other story I have heard for a long time, the teacher, within a few weeks, admits guilt and takes a pea bargain, to avoid the decades in jail he faces if found guilty. This is not what has happened and it is highly usual. I find it more plausible that Mr. Green is telling the truth, that he really is innocent.
3. According the past stories I have read, the "Victim", for doing drugs, was kicked out of the Band and the posted on Facebook that he was going to get "Payback". Then he accused Mr. Green of a crime. Again, this make is seems more plausible that Mr. Green is telling the truth.
There is no danger to any kids here. They guy left his job and is no longer teaching. They could have easily let this just fad off into a non-story. Why charge him, when you%u2019re just going to lose? Right now people are assuming he is guilty and trying to punish him first, then see if he is guilty. How is that right when we live in a place where you are innocent until proven guilty?

Thank you Cassandra and Beth, I am also a parent of a student. I don't believe this for a second and will be in court to show my support for Mr. Green. To Jerry I agree, my daughter is becoming a teacher. One child gets mad hollars false things messes up a teachers whole career. Sad how they the district and courts handle these types of matters. Astate I know the child too, knowing both parties and reading everything I read I believe that Mr. Green is without a doubt NOT GUILTY

This dude needs to go to jail. I know the "kid" in question here. He is a good kid and mr green [censored] him up. I love em like a brother, good dude. But what that man did was wrong. A person in authority over a young person has a detrimental impact on these kids. Im glad the "kid" came forward before he took advantage of some one else's child. In short they wouldn't have arrested him in this case without evidence.

This is something I am concerned about with my child being a teacher. Once the allegation is made, without being proven, the teachers career is ruined. Then later to find out it was false allegations made by a disgruntled student. The case should be proven, before the private information is released about the accused.

Not true at all. He has been a teacher for a VERY long time. No one else has had problems with him until now. The guy that accused him was actually trying to get back at him. The kid does drugs and what I've heard recently, sells them, too. The kids that were in band with the accuser love Mr. Green. He would never do ANYTHING like that. Do people really want to put their faith in an irresponsible kid? Awful situation and I will be praying for him.

There is no way on earth. I have known him and my children have had him for band and there is no way!!!!!!!!!
