A handful of Arkansas mayors faced recall elections last night. Some are keeping their posts, while others are being shown the door.

Alexander mayor Paul Mitchell and Kingsland mayor Tim McClellan were voted to be removed from office on election day.

Three other cities -- Bauxite, Cotton Plant, and Redfield -- saw the recall petition efforts fail, meaning they'll keep their current mayors.

The City Councils in Alexander and Kingsland will have to either appoint a replacement or hold a special election to fill the vacant mayor positions in those city governments.
