Update: Mississippi Pilot Dies from Injuries after Conway Plane Crash

Update (November 8):
Conway Police say Robert Allen, 65, of Oxford, Mississippi, has died from injuries suffered in Wednesday's plane crash.

Original story (November 7):
Conway Police say the pilot, Robert Allen, 65, of Oxford, Mississippi, is in critical condition at UAMS after a plane crash Wednesday afternoon.

Police tell KARK 4 News that the aircraft took off just after noon from the city's municipal airport at Ingram and 6th streets.

Witnesses reported hearing what they described as engine trouble, police said.

The pilot came back down, crash-landing on a fence.

He had been pulled from the wreckage and was being taken to a hospital at last report. The extent of his injuries isn't yet known.
