Big Tex, the 52-foot tall iconic symbol of the State Fair of Texas, caught fire this morning in Dallas.
The blaze burned through the famed statue's clothes, leaving little more than his metal frame still standing.
No one was hurt, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth reported.
Big Tex had been a fixture at the State Fair for 60 years, according to the Big Tex Facebook page.
He wore size 70 boots, a 75-gallon hat, Dickies shirt, denim jeans and 50-pound belt buckle.
Fair officials have not yet commented on what caused the fire.
Comments on social media websites numbered in the hundreds shortly after word got out that Big Tex was gone.
