Some 2,000 runners will hit the streets of Conway next Saturday, October 27th in the Soaring Wings Half Marathon.  The Soaring Wings Ranch is celebrating five years of giving children who need it most a loving Christian home.

It wouldn't be a ranch without the horses and beautiful setting. "It's truly a dream come true," said founder Andrew Watson.

Watson's dream was years in the making, as he set out to give a godly home to children going through life's toughest circumstances.

"Abuse, neglect, dysfunctional backgrounds," said Watson.  "Sometimes our children are truly orphaned, and they just need a home."

Soaring Wings has served 45 children since opening five years ago.  They're at capacity now with 16 children in two homes.  Some stay for as little as a year- others through graduation.

Watson said, "What we do is offer them a home as long as they need it."

It's more than a home.  Soaring Wings provides a family to children.  they have house parents who live in each home 24/7.

Watson says those house parents make all the difference, "Because they love them as their own child, and it's just a bond that God builds regardless of how long they're here.  We give them everything we have while they're here," he said.

And soon16 more children will find a home there, as the ranch opens up two more houses in November.

"But we won't stop there," said Watson.  "Our dream is to build up to ten homes here at Soaring Wings."
