Republican State Senator Jon Hubbard has compared critics of him and others in his party who've made controversial comments about race to Nazis.

In a letter to the Jonesboro Sun, Hubbard complains Democrats were behind the cancellation of a fundraiser for GOP candidate Charlie Fuqua.

Hubbard's letter reads in part, "Does all of this political propaganda being put out by Governor Mike Beebe, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and others remind you, even a little bit, of how Hitler took control of the minds of the German people in the 1930s?"

Hubbard has made national news for a passage from his book saying slavery was a blessing for African Americans.
