Life CHAMPS set up a fund to help the family of Akiya Egeston with financial support for funeral costs and other needs after she was killed on the job at the EZ Mart on MacArthur Drive.
The group sent a letter to members letting them know about the Akiya Egeston Love Fund that was set up at Delta Trust and Bank.
Donations can be made in person at any Delta Trust and Bank location, by phone using a debit card by calling (501) 907-2280, or by transferring funds from any existing Delta Trust and Bank account.
The letter sent out shortly after Egeston's death stated: "The mother of two of our players was tragically killed over the weekend during a robbery attempt at her job. The coaches of these two players have done a tremendous job in providing various forms of support to this family and we have been told that playing football has made an incredible impact on the lives of these two boys."
Life CHAMPS is a non-profit youth sports organization that uses the platform of sports to build champions for life. It promotes healthy competition while also teaching that life is about more than just winning.
