A log truck driver has been killed in a three-vehicle accident in Yell County.

It happened about four o'clock Tuesday afternoon along Highway 10 in the town of Birta.

According to the Arkansas State Police accident report, the log truck driver who died had been trying to pass a second log truck when he clipped the end of a load of logs. That caused his vehicle to cross the center line and hit a Chevrolet Suburban head-on. After the impact, his vehicle rolled off the highway and hit a tree.

James Allen Boman, 56, of Waldron died at the scene.

The drivers of the other vehicles were also hurt, but their conditions are not known.

Linda Cleveland, 60, of Little Rock, was driving the SUV. Waylon Damon, 32, of Ola was driving the second log truck. He was being treated at a Dardanelle hospital at last report.
