It happened Tuesday night during a joint narcotics operation conducted by the Austin and Ward Police Departments.
The Austin Police Department says Timothy Wayne Nesler, Jr.. 29, of Austin was arrested on charged of possession of suspected methamphetamine and suspected marijuana, along with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Plainclothes officers overheard a conversation in the parking lot of a gas station on Highway 38 between two people. One of them asked the other "Hey, can ya help me out and smoke a hit with me?," Austin Police said.
When officers first approached Nesler, police say he gave them a different name but the police chief knew Nesler from previous contacts.
Nesler reportedly admitted that he had an active warrant for non-payment of child support and that he had meth, marijuana and paraphernalia in his pocket.
He was taken to the Lonoke County Detention Center and held on $2,500 bond.
