People who might avoid going to the Arkansas State Fair because of the big crowds at night now have a reason to check out the fair during the day.

For the third straight year, "Lunch at the Fair" is being offered on weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

There's no charge to get in the gate or to park, leaving all your spending money for food, which the fair will have lots of this year, as usual.

The foods to be found at the fair range from the typical to the unusual. Click here for a list of the 53 food vendors and their specialties. Click here for the annual Tie Dye Travels Fair Food Preview.

Arkansas State Fair General Manager Ralph Shoptaw says since "Lunch at the Fair" started, attendance numbers have enjoyed a spike during that time frame, and he expects the same to happen this year.

The Fair started offering "Lunch at the Fair" when officials noticed people were already lunching at the Fair and decided to give them a break on admission and parking.
