Carmen Boche-Perez, 54, of Lowell (Benton County), was also ordered by United States District Court Judge Jimm Larry Hendren to pay $12,500 in fines and to serve 5 years supervised release after he gets out of prison.
"This crime is reprehensible and horrendous. We will continue to aggressively prosecute those who victimize our children," said Conner Eldridge, United States Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas.
According to court documents, on October 27, 2010, immigration agents came in contact with Boche-Perez as he was trying to cross the border from Mexico into the United States. The agents searched Boche-Perez's luggage and discovered multiple DVD disks, which contained videos of minors engaging in sexual activity.
At that time, Boche-Perez admitted to having another DVD containing child pornography at his home in Lowell. A federal search warrant was obtained and a subsequent search of the home turned up one DVD with multiple video clips of child pornography.
On May 10th, Boche-Perez pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography accounting for the single DVD containing child pornography found inside his house.
This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations.
