Update: Millage Passed for Future "State of the Art" Surgery Center at Drew Co. Hospital

A new surgery center for Monticello's Drew Memorial Hospital became a much clearer vision, with Tuesday's passage of the continuation of the current millage for the local hospital, by a 2 to 1 margin.

Residents in Drew County will vote on Tuesday to extend Drew Memorial Hospital's request to extend the current millage.

Early voting saw 212 people cast their ballots.

According to Drew Memorial, the money will be used for a new surgical center.

The current center is 33 years old.

Polls open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
